Otvorena Zimska akademija Europskih demokratskih studenata u Zagrebu
U Zagrebu se od 21. do 26. veljače 2012. održava Zimska akademija EDS-a u organizaciji Sveučilišne organizacije HSS-a. Tom se prilikom u Zagrebu okupilo preko osamdeset mladih iz cijele Europe i Bliskog Istoka. Tema akademije je "Demokratski procesi na Balkanu – promocija europskih vrijednosti i ljudskih
prava“. Otvaranju akademije prisustvovao je i sam vrh Hrvatske seljačke stranke, predsjednik HSS-a Branko Hrg, potpredsjednica HSS-a Marijana Petir te potpredsjednik HSS-a Darko Rukavina.
Europski demokratski studenti (EDS) su najveća studentska organizacija u Europi. EDS je jedna od najutjecajnijih međunarodnih organizacija za mlade i studente. Utemeljena je 13. svibnja 1961. godine i studentska je asocijacija Europske pučke stranke (EPP). Okuplja četrdeset i tri organizacije, iz trideset i šest zemalja i predstavlja 1.6 milijuna mladih osoba.
